Recreation Division Encourages Neighborhood Block Parties

Post Date:03/29/2018 8:41 a.m.

Neighborhood block parties are an excellent opportunity to meet neighbors while enjoying the warmer weather. Hosting a City-approved block party will close off the desired street, blocking any vehicular traffic. After determining the desired road to block off, interested residents must contact their neighbors that will be affected by the street closure to ensure that every neighbor approves the block party.

In order to hold a block party, a special event application should be completed and turned in to the Recreation Division office at City Hall, along with the $50 block party fee. This application, along with the Special Event Guidelines and a Neighborhood Block Park Brochure is available on the City website at, or at the Recreation Division office at City Hall (18 N. Jackson, First Floor).

Please contact the Recreation Division at (608) 755-3030 for more information or to have the materials mailed to you.
