Janesville Fire Department Received Training on New Vehicle

Post Date:04/05/2018 12:14 p.m.

The newest members of the Janesville Fire Department have been receiving training on the newest piece of equipment at the Janesville Fire Department.  The Janesville Fire Department took delivery of its new UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) in mid-March and has been working on getting it equipped for service.

The new UTV will have a wide variety of tasks that it may be used to perform.  It is equipped to assist in the extinguishment of brush fires and movement of patients from remote locations such as the bike trail or remote fields.  The UTV may also be used at special events like the 4-H Fair, National Ski Show, and/or Sonic Boom to assist in any emergency response the department may encounter at these types of events.

The department received grant money from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to pay for part of the equipment placed on the UTV.

For more information, please contact the Janesville Fire Department at (608) 755-3050.
