Neighborhood and Community Services Department is Dementia Friendly

Post Date:04/12/2018 11:01 a.m.

All three divisions of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department have completed Dementia Friendly training. Janesville Transit, Housing and Recreation Divisions have been designated as Dementia Friendly organizations. These divisions have committed to providing support to those with dementia by learning more about recognizing the disease, communicating with those who may have dementia and directing anyone with questions to community resources.

Neighborhood and Community Services Director Jennifer Petruzzello says, “I am pleased that we were able to obtain training in this critical area. As a result, we will be able to better serve the many Janesville residents experiencing dementia and encourage their families to participate in City programs.”
